From the greek “Kinemata” (movement), Cinema is the Art that, through a technical system, allows the realization and the projection of moving images. Conceived in France in the sec. XIX, it realizes a phantasmagoria, consisting in the projection of images in sequence.

The director, screenwriter and producer Roberto Rossellini, father of Italian neorealism and universally regarded as the first Master of Italian cinema, realized a lot of iconic films, including "Roma città aperta".

With his several successful films, from "Colpire al cuore" to the very recent "Hammamet" (with the great Pierfrancesco Favino interpreting Bettino Craxi), the Calabrian director Gianni Amelio is considered one of the most important Masters of contemporary Italian and international Cinema.
