Sculptural art is a very diverse spectrum of art. Within sculptural art is found the sources of nature but also materials that were made by humans. The most popular form of sculptural art are the statues. Some of the statues in the Netherlands are very meaningful to the population, there is also a big part of pride within the population because of the artworks. When the statue is presented for the first time, many Dutch people want to be there, and it is also seen as a very important task, so the mayor of the particular city or village is present. Five of the most important statues are Statue of Anne Frank, Statue of Michiel de Ruyter, The destroyed city, Statue of Hugo de Groot and the National monument.
