“La Pietà” by Antonello Gagini, a Renaissance masterpiece, is a marble statue depicting Virgin Mary holding Christ, laid down by the Cross, between Her arms. Dating back to 1521, “La Pietà” is kept in Soverato.
“I Bronzi di Riace” are two bronze statues depicting two warriors, dating back to the fifth century. Realized by an unknown author, they represent one of the main works of Greek Art and Classical Age. Found in Riace Marina, they are kept in Palazzo Campanella, Reggio Calabria, where they are being restored. The Bronzi are the most important symbols of Calabria.
